DEALING WITH BED BUGS?

SYMPTOMS

Small, red bite marks on your upper body can be from a bed bug infestation.

INFESTATION

Over several hundred eggs can be deposited by the female over several months.

AVOID GETTING THEM

The female can lay three to five eggs per day, and up to five hundred eggs in its lifetime.

GETTING RID OF THEM

General Exterminating uses a state-of-the-art, chemical-free heater that kills bed bugs at all stages of development.

FINDING THEM

As the population multiplies, bed bugs are easier to find. However, they do not like to come out in the day. For best results, call a pro.

TREATMENT

That’s the easy part. Just call us today, and we will take a look at your situation to help your home become bed bug-free.

Look Closely at the Problem

Mature bugs are usually between 4 and 5 mm long and 1.5 to 3 mm wide. They are commonly reddish brown in color, giving them nicknames such as the ‘mahogany flat’ and the ‘crimson rambler’. Young bugs, known as nymphs, are transparent and develop their color over a five-part period of maturing.

Bed Bug Bites

They are extremely shy insects, drawn to the human body at night for feeding. They have a “beak” with mouth parts that are divided into two: one secretes the bug’s saliva into the human, and the other feeds on blood. Some individuals report severe adverse reactions to bites and some have a mild reaction.

Bed Bug Waste

Early detection is crucial, but once they spread throughout a room or apartment, eradication becomes much more difficult. Unchecked or ineffectively treated, they can spread throughout a building.
